About The Cape May Peanut Butter Company

The Cape May Peanut Butter Company began with one table-top grinder, some plastic deli tubs and owner Carl grinding peanut butter in the front window of the cottage-like store on Carpenters Lane.  Needing more room for shelves and staff we quickly had to move that process to the second-floor kitchen. In 2014, with the addition of a second location in an equally quaint location at the Historic Smithville Village Greene located just outside of Atlantic City we again outgrew the space and moved to a production site at the Cape May County Airport.  Driven by a desire to serve our loyal and growing customer base with delicious, fun, and innovative products we recently expanded again to a brand new 3000-square foot production site at the airport. In this new facility our production crew mixes, grinds, jars and labels our nut butters by hand. Our two peanut butter stores in Cape May and Smithville have become destinations that people must visit. Unique, fresh, handmade products and the warm welcoming feeling our customers get when they enter our stores have driven our growth since the 2013 opening of what is now known as “The Happiest Place in Cape May”.  

The house flavor nut butters that we strive to keep constantly stocked are Honey Roast, Butter Scotch, Capu Cino, Choc Choc, Organic and Natural peanut butters, as well as Almond, Sunflower, Cashew butters.  We also run limited small-batch flavors that create excitement and anticipation with our customers.  Our team loves the process of formulating new flavors! Some of our favorites have been Smoked Vanilla, Maple Bacon, Peppermint, Coconut and Chocolate Chipotle.

In addition to our sought-after nut butters, we have jams, jellies, candies, gift items and our baked goods are outstanding!  Freshly baked cookies make the whole store smell delicious.  House made peanut butter cups, peanut butter non-pareils and our Smashwich peanut butter ice cream sandwiches are “Must Tries.”  You can enjoy your treats in our beautiful courtyard seating areas or bag them up and take them to the beach or home to your friends and family. Speaking of family, dogs are welcome in our courtyard as well, and they’ll love our healthy treats made just for them, just as much as you’ll love the treats you’ve selected for yourself.
